StarkNet is created by StarkWare and is a permissionless decentralized Validity-Rollup (ZK-Rollup). It’s an L2 network that sits on top of Ethereum. Like other L2s, it supports ETH, ERC-20, and ERC-721. The project is under development but they released their first version of their Bridge called “StarkGate” (cool name).
Below shows you how to interact with the Alpha version of StarkGate:
StarkGate only supports Chrome. Go to https://goerli.starkgate.starknet.io/ for the StarkGate bridge. Make sure your wallet has the Goerli testnet configured. Connect your wallet (i.e. MetaMask)
StarkGate will then ask you to connect another wallet for StarkNet. We recommend installing Argent X (https://www.argent.xyz/argent-x/) browser wallet and creating a new address.
Make sure BOTH accounts are connected and the app look similar to the picture below. It will be on the top right of your screen.
Now, let’s get testnet ETH for StarkNet. Just paste your address at this link:
Next, test bridging ETH between StarkNet and Mainnet. Since you only got testnet ETH on Starket, make sure you are sending FROM StarkNet! This is an Alpha version so there can be long delays in bridging.
Once finished testing and the most IMPORTANT action: provide feedback via this link: https://forms.reform.app/starkware/StarkGate_Feedback/yhyalh
The StarkNet team even thanks you for trying it out via this message:
My fellow Snoopers, THIS is how you become an OG for a project.
